VAW Systems Noise Control, servicing Industrial and Commercial applications nationwide, hires Acoustic Engineer FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 2, 2011 – Winnipeg, MB. – VAW Systems Ltd., a pre-eminent global supplier of engineered noise control products specializing in Industrial Fan applications, is pleased to welcome Emanuel Mouratidis to the VAW team.
Emanuel joins the VAW team as the Director of Acoustic Engineering. Emanuel will be responsible for Technology Leadership that will encompass all aspects of Acoustic Engineering. His goal will be to provide a significant level of customer value as a result of the advancement of acoustic engineering within VAW Systems. Emanuel will provide technical services to our customers which will include training, support and product development. Biography: Emanuel is a professional engineer with over 16 years’ experience in noise and vibration assessment and mitigation design and has both a Master of Engineering in Acoustics from the Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Engineering from Ryerson University. Early in his career, Emanuel worked as a noise control Product and Laboratory Manager in a NVLAP accredited facility. He has completed extensive aero-acoustic testing, both in-situ at project sites and within a controlled laboratory environment, enhancing his knowledge towards product ratings and the related performance impacts in the real world. He has finalized a number of post-construction audits, including the evaluation of low frequency sound, infrasound, structural vibration and spectral measurements. Emanuel is experienced in the application of software tools in the analysis of indoor and outdoor noise and computational fluid dynamics. In addition, he has developed custom software packages for the acoustic analysis of fan systems and silencer selections. In his previous role as an Acoustic Consultant, Emanuel completed impact studies for industrial facilities (gas turbines, steel mills, tunnel ventilation, automotive plants, refineries, landfills, quarries, wind farms, and solar power plants), transportation corridors (road and rail) and residential developments. He has been involved in building acoustics designs for hospitals, schools, performance spaces, libraries and energy efficient office buildings. Emanuel actively participates in professional societies, standards development groups and research project monitoring. He has authored papers on noise control and HVAC aerodynamics, including presentations at conferences such as ASHRAE, Canadian Acoustic Association, NoiseCon, InterNoise, and the Air and Waste Management Association. He brings experience and a proven track record of success in the Acoustic Engineering area, which will be invaluable in meeting our customers’ needs. |
